General Description
The position co-ordinates the middle through high school age youth group activities of the church in coordination with the Church School Board. The position needs to be filled by a person or persons who can relate to the middle school through high school youth of today, possibly a young adult or college student. The position also needs to be filled by a person or persons who can create and promote ideas that capture the imagination of our youth, both inside and outside our church. General music skills such as keyboard, guitar, or singing are beneficial. This is a year round position with time frame negotiable.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct weekly/bi-weekly meetings for the teenagers of our church for the purpose of combined general Christian Education and “fun time”.
- Plan and organize small social activities such as “lock-ins”, fundraisers, and local fun trips such as “chip and putt”.
- Organize and coordinate larger trips with the assistance of the Church School Board, the pastor, and interested members of our congregation. Examples of this are mission trips, full day trips, etc.
- Coordinate combined activities with other church groups in the area.
- Plan and organize out-reach activities designed with the intent of teaching good Christian responsibilities and values.
- Lead praise and worship music during meetings.
