Under Construction: A Habitat for Humanity Vacation Bible School
In the month of July many children and adults donned their hard hats and work aprons as part of Habitat for Humanity's Under Construction vacation bible school. The sound of hammering, singing, laughing. learning, and (everyone's favorite) snacking echoed throughout the church as we learned that God wants us to CARE about others, SHARE what gifts we have, continue to LEARN about him and our world, WORSHIP Him, and to CELEBRATE what He does for us. We learned about Habitat for Humanity and how they help partner families and other volunteers build their own home.
We did our own part to help by building bookshelves and creating quilts for each of the four current partner families in the Harrisburg area. More than 40 children joined our construction crew over the month's time and we were able to collect more than $100 to donate to the the Harrisburg affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.
Thank you to everyone who made this a wonderful learning and growing experience. From parents who brought their children to volunteers helping with VBS, we couldn't have done it without you!!
