What Areas Need Work?

What happens here doesn’t stay here, it flows into the world! The church building is so much more than a Sunday worship space, in fact worship only makes up about 15% of our total building usage. Our building is an integral part of our mission by providing a location to connect and engage with our community, and provides office space. We actively encourage various community groups to utilize space throughout the week for meeting, storage and connection. Spaces that build their visibility, and further their missions. Our vision statement says “we seek to engage the world through worship, education, ministry, mission, and love.” And to continue that mission our building must be maintained, revitalized and reinvigorated for the next 100 years!
These projects have been identitied as our top priorties for addressing right now. If we can raise OVER AND ABOVE our goal, more projects could be added to revitalize spaces! |

Alternate Ways of Giving
Looking at your whole financial picture can identify alternate means of giving to the church that are not part of a weekly or monthly budget. A benefit of including assets is that the monetary value of the gift typically exceeds what you might give regularly. In most cases, asset-based giving is as simple as assigning ownership to the church. Of course, there are many variations Here are just a few to get you thinking:
Appreciated Assets: Transferring shares of stocks, bonds, or mutual funds to the church to take a tax deduction based on the market value of the stock at the time of gift, could maximize your gift, and minimize your tax liability.
IRA Charitable Distribution: Consider making your gift commitment through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), a direct transfer of funds from your IRA. It can be counted toward satisfying your Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) for the year. Doing so excludes the amount donated from taxable income, unlike regular withdrawals of an IRA.
Life Insurance: You could give the cash value or donate the annual dividends. Or even could consider making our church a full or partial beneficiary of a policy that has outlived its original purpose.
Wills: Making an unrestricted gift, or designating the church through a will or trust is a significant expression of legacy stewardship. Designating a percentage gift in your will allows you to make a significant contribution that may not have been possible during your lifetime.
Employer Matching Gifts: Double the impact of your donation! Some employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees, retirees and/or spouses. Contact the Human Resources of your company to find out if they have a matching gift program.
or you could start early and spread your commitment out further:
Jumpstart your Giving: The campaign is planned so that contributions will begin in January 2025, and end in 2028 with our building’s 120th anniversary. But if you want to contribute before the end of the 2024 year to take advantage of tax savings, you could jumpstart your commitment and reduce the regular giving in the coming years.
Please consult your financial advisor in planning your gift. You can also check in with the campaign leadership team if you are looking for advice.
