Gift Teams
Jesus said, “Go and to make disciples of all nations.” We live into that command by engaging our community as disciples, rather than membership. Each of us has the same invitation and responsibility to seek the call of the love, care and connection that Jesus shared with the first disciples. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to the world. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries that show and share God’s love.
We work in teams to accomplish this work and all are invited to engage in the work.
Outreach/Missions Team
Purpose: Reaching out to the wider community through activity, service, media and dialogue.
Events: Relay for Life, Rebuilding Together, Hummelstown Ministerium/Food Bank, Community Garden, Make-and-Take Frozen Meals.
Fellowship/Family Team
Purpose: Providing opportunities to encourage development of faith and fellowship.
Activities: Faith Formation Classes, Inter-generational Faith Formation Classes, Bible Study, Small Group Discussion, Worship and Music (including Choir & Bell Choir).
Administration Team
Purpose: Management of our church’s resources
Oversight: Financial investments and operating budget, and property maintenance.
Fundraising/Events Team
Purpose: Assist in planning and implementation of major events and fundraising efforts that utilize building spaces.

Sexton
Chris Williard Chris is the first line of maintenance and care of our building and grounds, and works with many disciples to care for our facility. We are grateful for his time and attention to our spaces! |

Office Administrator
Joanie Chiara Joanie started working with Hummelstown UCC in May 2024. She is our first contact in the office and manages our day to day programs and processes. |

Director of Music
Esther has over a half century of church music experience, having served churches in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. She is also a music educator, teaching K-12 and college, most recently as a high school choir and band director. Currently, she is a paraprofessional for Autism Support at the Conestoga Valley School District. Her degrees are from Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, MA and Westminster Choir College, Princeton, NJ. She lives in Lancaster with her husband Mike, son Luke, and their dog Dunkin. |
